The 70s & 80s Nostalgia Thread...

For whatever reason, this became the go to meal for my sister when mom had to work and she had to feed me. I think I ate tons of this shit in the late 1970s.

Wow, don't remember that version. We are regular hamburger helper a lot, but not the "tamale" one.

We had something similar as kids but it wasn’t from a box. We called it corn pone pie. It was awesome.

Am I the only one that had corn pone pie as a kid? That surprises me.

funny sex moves
Btw, now that we are settled in a room, you are an asshole. We were in the waiting room with everyone all serious and shit, and I laughed out loud while looking at my phone. My family was all, what are you laughing at? I told them I saw a funny meme on FB. I couldn’t imagine explaining that a childhood meal of mine was being compared to a “funny sex move” by a guy on a Cowboys message board. :lol

Siblings and friends? Hell no. I knew what those tracks were capable of. I took a memorable ass whoopin or two from those things. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone that I actually liked.

I did learn a valuable lesson though. Don’t piss mom off while they were out and within reach. She was a grab the first thing she sees kind of ass whooper.

Dude, my mom was the exact same way. She is only like 4'11" but when she got mad she might as well have been King Kong. Wooden spoons, hangers, she threw a plate at my older brother once, and if she had nothing readily handy she would come at us like a rabid spider monkey. She did the same thing with dad. She once hit him in the back of the head with a Tonka firetruck because he pissed her off. And, we all know how well they were built when we were kids. I was way more afraid of my mom than I was of my dad.
