The 70s & 80s Nostalgia Thread...

I don’t it is as simple as that. But the advent of stuff being engineered to sell toys is the dead honest truth. Now kids are bombarded visually from the crib.

Speaking of which..... It wasn't until recently that found out that the He-Man cartoon was created to push toys. I always assumed the toys came after the success of the cartoon however the toys were created a few years before the cartoon came out.

As an aside, those little life lessons segments that we used to get at the end of each episode, where one of the characters would deliver some spiel about being a good sport or some such, were actually mandated by the government. They didn't want the shows to simply be 30 minute commercials for toys so apparently there was some FCC law on the books mandating that there be some form of educational content included in each episode.

That should be their new marketing campaign. Pizza Hut used to be really good and they’re just trash now.

Yeah I'm not sure if it's just nostalgia or what but it feels like there is a massive opening for a return to the old ways for Pizza Hut. Hell most of the stores still look the same. They just stopped doing the stuff that made it a place to eat.

I just see a bunch of bad female hair.

And the only time I had a backpack was in grade school when I rode my bike to school.

It's really not that bad.

This was the height of female beauty in 1940...
