The only thing that made my aunt's abomination soggy was the tears of the children she served it to. By the time it came out of the oven it was usually quite dry.

The molletes actually looks/sounds decent.

Are you talking about that macaroni with marinara meat sauce nonsense? I remember being confused the first time that was served to me as 'goulash'. My gandparents on my mom's side were first generation Americans and while my grandmother's family was from Denmark, my grandpa's was from Bohemia so she cooked a lot of authentic Eastern European food. Her goulash with knedliky was delicious. Never could get into borscht though.

I think it all depends on who is making it. Leftover parts of things can go in it as well.

LOL That brings back memories of camping with my grandparents. Hot dogs over the fire and cold Pork N Beans in a cool whip container :towel

Of course I wouldn't eat any of that crap now.

Yeah, I have heard of it being made a number of ways. My mom's was macaroni, sauce, tomatoes and maybe some other stuff. I can't remember.
 
Best gas station type food:

Boerne, TX has amazing BBQ and burgers at a gas station.

Allsups fried burritos...I lived on them for a couple of years. Sometimes if I want to destroy my stomach I'll have one.

Isn't the original Rudys in that area? My mom took me to a has station BBQ place once years ago and I thought that was it?
 
Rudys is different in that they aren't all the same product. They have the original places and then the franchises. The difference is noticeable.

My son dated the daughter of a guy that owns 4-5 franchises. I know he talked about LBK and possibly midland a few years ago.

I do like baked beans with bacon and maple syrup. Has to be warm/hot though.

Man, I have eaten so many Allsups fried burritos I just can't seem to stomach them now. They have the best taco sauce.
