Never used spears, but did go hog hunting with a buddy in high school.

His dad trained dogs for hog hunting, so we had a few dogs with us.

They started tracking a hog a couple hours into the night and had it bayed up pretty quickly.

We were running through the woods trying to catch up and I didn't realize how fierce it would be.

It was slinging dogs all over the place, it was a nasty bastard.

Came after me and I kinda danced around a tree to get away from it.

Didn't know what the hell to do.

The dogs got back on him and kept him busy while my friend tackled him and flipped him over on his back.

Couple other fellas helped hold him down and they tied him up.

I haven't been back.

For those of you that I don't have on FB, this was on our backdoor last night. It was about 5 inches across. There was some discussion about what kind it is. The two sides were evenly divided between tarantula and trapdoor spider.
