Listened to Lacuna Coil sometimes but they get too death metal-ish for me for the most part. But Scabbia makes them palatable, depending on how much they let her go.

Will have to check out Nightwish and Epica, never heard of them.

Another weird thing for me is 1980s-type synth based music with female leads.

Ever since Drive, I listen to everything the Chromatics, College/Electric Youth and Desire puts out.

Also forgot about Purity Ring, who I saw at the House of Blues last year. Enjoyed their performance.

I heart Christina Scabbia so much. I don't love their later stuff but their first few albums are awesome.

I'll have to check out 80s female synth. I don't think I've heard of any of those.

Nightwish, I'd check out Amaranth, Bye Bye Beautiful, and the Poet and the Pendulum before anything else. Their prior singer takes some getting used to (very operatic).

Most of my 90's love is from the British Invasion.

Eurythmics, Lisa Stansfield I also dig Taylor Wayne from the U.S.

I have heard of none of those bands you mentioned must be late 80's when I stopped listening to that stuff.

Will have to check it out.

Kind of hard to be the DFDC to your pre-teen and tell her that Taylor Swift is some no talent twat who can't hold a candle to some other more accomplished musical artist.
