Aren't you the one a few years or so ago who claimed that the growing acceptance of homosexuality in this country is going to result in huge percentages of the population turning gay? :lol

I mean, you did have that air-tight supporting argument of "ANCIENT GREECE!!!".

Maybe it wasn't you, but I seem to think it was.
 
My freshman son has wrestled the starting varsity QB spot away from the previous starter.

That was me. My argument was that culture influences the numbers of homosexuals in a society. Basically the Helens where a good example of that because gay sex ran the gamut from nearly non-existant to the entire citizen body, depending on which city you happened to be sitting in.

Basically some cities had philosophies that encouraged it, low and behold those cities had higher percentages of homosexuality. Others didn't and had less.

Same with society today, but in Ancient Greece the difference in one people was exceptionally pronounced because of the political fragmentation.

Where there any gay kids in your middle school? Because I guarantee you there are some at your old middle school now. It is a cool thing the kids do for attention now.


I just got mad yesterday at the universe because it is one thing to post some gay shit to get a rise out of people (it took everything in me not to throw a tantrum and forum quit with a dozen gay pics, funny right?), it is another for people to act like posting pictures of men kissing is not disgusting and innapropriate. Frankly those are not the kind of people I want to be posting with.

Well I posted a picture of guys kissing but followed it up with a manly post. I can go to sleep feeling pretty good bait life.

I'm sure it encourages kids to come out but not sure how many it sways that weren't already potentially gay. Not going into a whole discussion about it in the Test Thread or any other thread. I see your point to a degree but at least in my memory you seemed to be suggesting that changing attitudes are setting the foundation for gay to be the status quo in the near future. I don't think it's going to go to that extreme and maybe you don't either. Whatevs. Just made me laugh thinking of that old thread and it was fun typing "ANCIENT GREECE!!!".
 
Rap music is very anti-gay. Just keeping track here...rap caused a huge wave of violence, but didn't curb the rise of homosexuals.

By the way, I just learned that Magic Johnson's son is gay.
 
Maybe the rising popularity of the NFL has contributed to homosexuality. There's nothing gayer than the NFL Scouting Combine. Secondly, the NFL has taken people out of Sunday church to subject them to watch finely-tuned athletes grunt and squeal in sweaty tights instead.

I was a little disappointed that my son could not play a skill position, because in his league if you are over 105 pounds you have to play on the OL and DL. When we did flag and other leagues he was either the QB, WR, or LB...so I thought he might lose interest. Nope, he is the starting center and RDE and really enjoying it. I think it will help him down the road if he transitions back to a skill position.

While my boys were growing up we all spent time together throwing the ball and going to fields in our local area playing with other kids. All of my boys have become good football players as a result of that, the older ones being harder on them and playing competitively since they were tiny. The difference was pretty noticeable from other kids who were obviously good athletes but not all that experienced. I honestly think that running routes, catching the ball, learning how to tackle and be tough in the back yard made all of the difference for their skills.

My 22 year old was the defensive leader for his team, was all-state, won a state championship in HS and got all sorts of acolates.

My 19 year old was a 3 time all-state selection, scored 48 tds, 145 tackles and 8ints his senior year. He was a real stud with offers to play at small colleges.

My freshman is a gifted passer. He is 6'1" now and has a lot going for him.

My 7th grader is just as much of a stud. He plays the entire game on all three sides of the ball.

I'm real proud of them. I'm much more proud of their grades and conduct though. Really good kids for the most part.

I'm not a huge fan of weight leagues. I know it is mostly mommas and paranoid dads worries about weight and skill players. Everyone wants to make it fair for everyone. They end up penalizing kids like yours who can play a skill position. Safety is not a concern. The crybabies sure like to make it seem like it is though.
 
I do like to see him grinding down a DL over the course of the game...and he is drawing some double teams on the defensive side of the ball...so I like that. He got his size early, which is good. I signed up to play Pop Warner as a kid, but did not meet the minimum weight requirement to play in the league. That sucked.

My brother walked that line the whole time he played Pee-Wee ball. In 4th grade he was just under the weight limit and played every position on the field, by the end of the season he was well over the weight limit but could still run the ball because we only weighed in once. The next year he was over the limit and played o-line and d-line/linebacker. Then he hit a growth spurt and slimmed up a little for 6th grade ball, he played full back and linebacker. He finished high school playing guard and defensive end. Playing multiple positions really helped him learn the game. He is very football smart now, at least on the field. I got a chance to coach him in an alumni game last fall and I could tell early on that he was going to be a big help to me getting guys in the right positions and teaching blocking assignments. He can read a defense and call out blocking schemes from the line. At linebacker its almost unfair, he flows to the ball naturally. Poor kid just never developed the speed to play at the next level. He will be helping me coach little league next year though and I'm looking forward to it.
