With the reasonable prices on LEDs these days I think I'd like to get a new one. It will be in my room at my house that I plan to set up for the guys. I've got a room upstairs that has a balcony for my buds to smoke cigars and watch the games. The room is about 15 x 18 ish. The seating will be on the 15' side mostly, so the tv will be 12-15 feet away.

I'd like to get a bargain because I am a cheap bastid but I don't want a terrible tv. Something with good quality that does well in a room that will get sunlight in the day and will perform well in the dark as well.

Any suggestions on size and brand?

I owned a Samsung and had a lot of problems with it. There is no absolutes in electronics. Sony is good but they are so overpriced it's completely unreasonable.

There's one up in Frisco but that's the only one I've seen and it hasn't been there very long, think little over a year

What is your budget?

You can get a projector and 100" screen for what you'd pay for a decent LED TV, if you have any interest in that.

I just set one of my buddy's sports room up with one, and I think he came in around 1900 bucks for everything and that included a small surround sound system to pair with it.

Its a BenQ projector.....pretty nice for the money.

I had my Sharp for exactly a year and two days. Then it went on the blink. I bitched up a storm as it was just a few days past the warranty. They replaced the part, then that one died a month later. They refused to fix it again and tried to pawn it off on the contractor that did the work. So I have a 42 inch in my garage that only shows 3/4ths of a screen. Pretty obvious they gave me a shitty refurbished part.

Fortunately mine has performed like a champ. Electronics are quirky but there are some brands that seem to have more problems than others.

I have a 60 inch Sony SmarTV that has been greatness. Great picture...easy to connect to wifi...nice and light.

Sony's newer line of TV's have been very good. They make a really good TV that is pretty cheap that might fit Skid's criteria.

The 50 inch W800B. At 999.99, it's an excellent value.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a samsung 55" for $899 at best buy. Midrange 120Hz model is fine. I've got that sucker hooked up and running now.
