So I've read here that chat forums are outdated with the younger generation. What are they doing? Just commenting on people they Twitter follow?

You can't really have conversations on Twitter, can you?

I don't agree that they are outdated. Younger people talk about FB being outdated, too, but it's still massively popular among the younger crowd. I think either they don't know about them or they just haven't attracted to the right one.

I said that and it was just my belief. I have no factual basis for it.

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but when I got hooked on forums, there wasn't any social networking sites. Back in 2000, I was working 12 hour shifts in front of a computer. So I ended up on the espn boards one day and passed time that way.

Nowadays, most people are on two or three social sites. I hung out with my 19 year old non-burnt nephew a few weeks ago and he was fucking around on FB, Instagram, pintrist.

With twitter you can interact with players and media, even if it is one sided (see: hostile). Get followers. And I've come to find out that some people really take twitter serious - keeping track of how many retweets they get and favs, etc. A lot of people even have YouTube channels now where they post videos, follow others, comment on each other etc.

Just think of all the "regs" you know/post with. They're all pretty much people you've been posting with for 7+ years, right?

Again, I could be way off. It just seems like there are so many options out there nowadays that forums don't rank that high in interest to noobs.

Just one mans opinion.
 
Also one other thing... most cowboys fans are the idiot cheerleader types. They're the real fan bleed blue go cowboys wooohooo types.

So they come to the dcc or dcu, read all the angry fan posts, and don't stick around.

I am very curious about how people who are supposed to be working get by with spending all their time on the internet just screwing around. Productivity must have gone in the scrapper. This is a general question by the way.

Maybe we should copy some of our conversations from a thread here and paste them onto our DCC Twitter account. Give the Twitter-only posters an opportunity to contribute there. Hopefully, they'll enjoy the banter enough to visit the website.


For for example, our opening post could be - did the cowboys make a mistake not drafting a QB? It would then be followed by some real posts made in our threads like a "rebuilt" conversation.

Say, that reminds me...the two times I went to Mexico I was surprised to see so many young locals with face piercings, tattoos and colorful hair. What's up with that? I didn't know Mexico was all trendy and stuff.

We're not trendy, just colorful...
You probablly went to the beaches too, you won't see as many in the big cities.
