The foundation of the perfect lunch sandwich.
I love a good meat and cheese sandwich, but sometimes, when I'm feeling a little extra........ Fancy? I like to add lettuce, pickles, salt and pepper to my sandwich. The lettuce has to be brand new though, it can't be something that's been in the fridge for a few days. I can't eat old lettuce.

Got my garden planted. Haven't had one in a couple of years, so I'm pretty excited.

The "new" lettuce you refer to has come from the field, been transported several hundred miles and sat in the produce department for a period of time before you buy it. A couple of days in the fridge won't make that much difference.
