What is the moral of my cool story bro? Culturally people only know what they know. A lack of life experiences can make you look stupid even when you really aren't.
How bout the gay friendly Austin?
No doubt about it.
There is a part of the population in Texas that are just irrationally rabid about their state pride though. I've never seen it anywhere else. People in NYC are proud to be New Yorkers and like to rep their 'hood and in Cali you see a lot of SoCal and NoCal regional pride, but I think Texas is unique in that it's a huge state where the state pride is off the charts. With the history and all I understand to a point but as someone who came here from somewhere else it was interesting to be submerged in it.
I mostly just tease Texans about their Texasness anyway. Like I said, I've lived here for a long time and I'm raising a family here. Obviously I've found plenty to like about it.
Getting wtfpwnt by Spongebob and Patrick.
That's gotta sting.

That is a hilarious clip.
~looks around nervously, puts on cowboys boots, pretends to read Texas Monthly, loudly discusses going two-stepping at the Broken Spoke while flashing "hook 'em Horns" sign~

My wife's entire family is from the Galveston area and my kids can recite this episode word for word when their aunts, uncles and cousins start acting well...like Texans.
Just this little part right here makes me swell up with pride.
