It's a dual fuel, uses either gas or propane/NG. It's a Champion 7000w I got on sale from costco, paid around $750 for it and then the fusebox switch where it plugs in was another $300 installed(by a friend)
My generator is a dual fuel as well. Gas/propane. I don't plan on running any gas through it unless I just absolutely have to. Keep those carbs from gumming up while it sits.

Having a gas furnace is probably what you're thinking about. If it's gas you just need electric for the blower fan. I can run one at a time to warm the house up(have separate for upstairs/downstairs), trying both of them at once started putting quite a load on the generator though
