Test...

Not a fan of sweet potatos in any form, so frying them bothers me.

I wasn't either until I discovered them the past few years. Had some at the ballpark just this past Saturday.

You are moving to the Midwest. You are going to have to learn to eat your fried foods.

I like sweet potatoes. They are a must at Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. Melted butter, marshmallow, brown sugar, chopped pecans... ~drool~

But as fries, they suck balls.

I see Michael J. Fox is getting a new show on TV. I'm guessing the jazz hands will be overdone.

I remember my dad used to drink buttermilk, but he would sprinkle some pepper on it first.

When I order Omaha beef steaks I will really be ordering Omaha beef.

So there is that.

Never ordered anything from them, but I got a gift certificate thingie I won for 20% off an order. Worth it?

I mean they were good and all, but a nice cut of meat is a nice cut of meat. I could not tell a noticeable difference.

Yeah but they seem pricey. I can get a nice filet for the price of some of the sirlion packages.

I'm sure you can. I ordered them for Christmas one year to be all fancy pants about it.

I'm refinancing again because I got locked in at a great interest rate that is going to save me quite a bit of money. Did the same thing in 2003 (bought the house in 2001) because the rate went down enough to make it worth it then. My wife handled most of the paperwork, etc., then but it's on me this time. It's bunch of horseshit. It will be worth it because I'll be saving a lot of money in the long run but the upfront costs plus all of the MF'ing paperwork and shit I have to provide is really, really irritating. I'm using the same company that originally gave me the loan and that also handled my refinance in 2003, yet it's essentially being treated as a brand new loan with all the crap I'm going through to make it happen.

Should be way, way simpler. Haven't been late on a mortgage payment once in the 12 years I've held the mortgage and my credit is in great shape (they ran a new credit report, which I had to pay for, along with paying for a new appraisal). Why in the hell is that not enough? Needless to say this process has been plenty frustrating.

I know exactly what you mean.

I bought a home a few years back but we're looking to get into something bigger before the homes get out of our price range. The prices are going up so fast, especially in my community, that we figured we better do it now or we won't able to later. For example, the home I bought just a little over 2 years ago just sold for 22,000 more than what I bought it for.

Anyhow, so I've been very pleased with my home and the quality of it as well the most of the staff from the builder of my home, especially the construction manager. So I'm looking at some of the other homes and the builder of my home had one for sale that my wife and I really liked. So after looking around (which is another hassle), we narrowed it down to 3 homes. One was by my builder, one was by Lennar, and the other was by Perry Homes.

So I want to make sure we stay in our budget so I ask if we can crunch numbers and get a rough estimate of what each home is going to cost after we take everything into account like loan type (FHA or conventional), tax rate in the area, upgrades to the homes, and of course the rate that I'm given on the loan (all of them had me between 3.65-3.75% :towel).

So of those 3, the only one that wouldn't sit down and talk with me unless I submitted an application was my current builder - the one who I've already bought from and one I was trying to spend more money with. They wanted so much shit for just my pre-qual that I eventually just got frustrated and told them I was no longer interested in their home. They tried to kiss my ass after the fact, but my mind was made up. You'd think that given my history wit them, and the fact I was trying to give them more money, that they would be the most willing to work with me.....but nope.

Now, I've found the house I want and am going through all the bullshit and there are days where I just want to drop it all, but I have to remind myself that this is just how this painstaking process goes.

CSB.

Just buy a mobile home. Simple. :unsure

I am thinking of buying a home now in Nebraska. I could get an awesome house for very cheap price. The only concern I have is that if I am there for only a couple of years and decide to move...well, I ahve just seen too many people have to walk away from houses and fuck up their credit for years.

I work with a CMSgt, E-9, who just had to file for bankruptcy because he could not afford living here and also pay for the house he had in another state.

That's exactly why I'm waiting until I retire before I buy my home. I've seen too many stories such as that one where a Soldier buys a home in one state then he/she gets reassigned to another base; and if they can't find a renter they're stuck paying a mortgage for that home plus rent for a home at their new duty station.

I understand it's a good investment, IF you can find a renter, but I'm too scared to roll the dice like that.
