Test...

Vedder is horrid. He hides it with his singing style sometimes but listen to Last Kiss and if you can tell me that man has any kind of singing voice whatsoever then I weep for you. Just BAD.

Keep in mind I am not saying bad SINGER, but rather bad VOICE.

Seriously though, is rock n roll really about the voice?

Some of the greatest voices ever will never make a dime for their talents. A lot of it is about what LT said.

Not sure I agree that Hendrix is bad, too.

Limited, sure. But I don't think I'd say bad.

Well, I think it goes back to what both LT and Skid - rock singers aren't always the best vocally but they don't need to be.

Hendrix isn't going to woo anyone with his voice, but I thought it was fine for what he did.

I couldn't imagine anyone else singing All Along the Watchtower.

No, that's not my point. I just think it is an interesting discussion.

It's one of the reasons why there are thousands of contestants on American Idol and the Voice and whatever other singing show each year. Good voices are not hard to find at all. Tons of people have good singing voices. Good singers - the ones who do interesting and compelling things with whatever voice they have - are much more rare.

I agree. Ozzy and Axl are good examples of that.

I always liked David Gilmour of Pink Floyd.

I'd go as far as to say Vedder may have the worst voice I've ever heard.

And I've heard Udo Dirkschneider.

Hell, the Smashing Pumpkins are one of my all time favorite bands ever. But I'd freely admit Billy Corgan's voice sucks.

Pearl Jam's first two albums were outstanding (not so much afterwards).

Here is a sample of Vedder on those albums:

FREEziiiing vjchysyskdjehndudnjfkdjdfndjcjdjd. Oh yeahuh.

Ok, that is true.....but I still thought his voice was solid.

Even live I don't think he's bad at all:

I'm almost positive that I smoked more weed than anyone else in history while listening to that gibberish.
