With 2 kids, I think you expect both of them to succeed. With three kids, 2 will succeed and the third will at least be self-sufficient. When you have 4 or more kids, as parents, do you secretly discuss with each other that you expect one to be a Will Ferrell Step-Brother?

Growing up in a large family is probably different in a lot of respects. There are pluses and minuses for sure. My kids are extremely flexible, easy to talk to and less self centered. It isn't because I'm an amazing parent as much as it is out of need to be able to function in a large family. They don't really have the concept of them having their own space, convenience and possessions like a lot of kids. They don't have a lot of room to be as self centered. That doesn't make them better people by any stretch. I've often thought about different things I could have provided I had few.

Bonfire for the boy's 18th birthday was a success last night. Cigars for everyone, fired up the smoker smoking a variety of meats...truly good times. It is so odd having two ot of the house and one on the way out. It shall never be quiet as long as my youngest daughter is home thought.
