Or he just sucks. One thing none of us ever know is about a guy's work ethic, how dumb they are, etc.

That's exactly right. There is just usually something glaringly wrong with the player when they sign and get cut so quickly. I liked his potential at one point as a seventh round pick, but I don't hold out much hope for him anymore.

Hmmm...dunno if Archer is just behind, but there are conflicts whether he's official or not...
