I mean he is basically a moderate choice. Obama will pretend like he is doing some great justice by nominating the first Indian to the supreme court (Which is just stupid as hell, promote the best guy. Who cares about where he was born). The Republicans would have a hard time blocking him because he isn't necessarily what I would call Liberal and clerked under Sandra Day O’Connor who was nominated by a Republican.

It's a dumb move for republicans to block. They've lost the last two leap year elections, even if a republican candidate wins, who would Trump nominate, Judge Mills Lane? They're better off having Obama pick a guy who needs to clear confirmation, than risk Hillary picking whoever the hell she wants and having a democrat majority usher them through without question.

We aren't talking about 25-30 years ago. Current times with the likes of Reid, Pelosi, etc...no doubt they'd wait it out and not confirm any nomination before the next election.

Whether the Republicans win or lose the next presidential election they will have only one window to attempt to waylay the process by Obama's choice of candidates. If they are unsuccessful in stalling the process the choice will not be theirs even if they win the election.

But she might gain the potential to give him something he desperately wants, and he can call the federal dogs off her. Hell, he can even PARDON her after she is President-Elect and before the oath of office is given.

He doesn't have to be best buds with her to make this kind of deal. In fact it's better if he's not.

The online response to this guy's death from the left has been pretty disgusting. You'd think they'd take a cue from their hero Ruth Bader Ginsburg who was actually his best friend and vacationed with him, which makes you think he probably wasn't a monster and just maybe disagrees with you on gay marriage and what constitutes racism.

But then again most of the real racists and bigots who have turned these issues into holy crusades which demand 100% conformity or face vilification (see the disgusting responses to mom and pop bakeries who refuse to bake gay wedding cakes), probably don't even know anything about Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Not like we should assume internet race warrior socialists have a clue about much of anything, really.
