Sabin - Sources: Cowboys have no knowledge of rumored video tape involving Bryant

I don't see anyway this tape is ever made public, if there even is a tape.

Sounds like Adam Schefter has confirmed there is indeed a tape.

Whether it's as bad as it sounds or whether the Cowboys can buy it before it gets to TMZ is another issue.

This is all about context if this happened years ago the damage will be minimal and if it really is that bad I am sure his reps would have paid the money.

His text is starting to make more sense now.

Is Schefter the hack reporter, or has it been proven that there is no tape? I'm behind in keeping up with all this stuff.

From what I understand, there hasn't been prove there is or isn't a tape yet. Hack writer is just a new phrase being overly used over the last month between this case and the Brian Williams thread.

Context for the negotiations...yes I agree. But will the NFL pay attention to that? They are so reactive they may treat him as if this happened last week.

Yeah sounds about right. A couple of the bad people from his past coming back and trying to extort him now that he is successful and has gotten rid of them. I still have zero concern for this.

That's what I'm thinking, too. This whole thing was an extortion plot from the start from old friends who have been cut off. The "5x worse than Ray Rice" was hyperbole to drive the price up. Wouldn't be surprised if the intent from the beginning wasn't to sell out to TMZ or someone, but to scare Dez enough to get a big payout from Dez himself.

I wouldn't doubt if Dez hit a girl, which of course is terrible. But I bet there are tons of exaggeration around this story.

It's terrible but I'm concerned about the person Dez is today and if this video is from 4 or 5 years ago I don't really care about it. Has anyone actually confirmed seeing the video or having possession of it?

I don't think anyone's confirmed a video. From everything I've heard, it sounds like people acknowledge that something has happened with Dez, but people don't know if there's video of it. Or, I suspect, if the video is clear or conclusive enough to be useful.

I still don't even believe there is a video. At all.

What I don't get is that it supposedly happened at Walmart. They have video cameras all over the place. If Dez struck a women in the face are we seriously saying no one saw it and reported it? That the video cameras at Walmart didn't catch it? That one of the many customers or workers wondering around the place didn't see it?

The story still doesn't make much sense to me.

What about the police investigation into an assault charge? Wouldn't that be all over the news? I suppose if it was something that happened years ago it wouldn't, but if it happened years ago, who really gives a shit?

I thought it was really bad. I wanted to smack a ho in Wal-Mart many times.

So, now Schefter is saying that he has been working on this "story" since September. Whatthefuckever.

Someone is taking this news pretty hard.
