Russia Invades Ukraine

Communism is based on a few being rich and the rest being poor. All communist countries have billionaires. All of them.
I was under the impression that Communism was predicated on the Government having and distributing the wealth. The heiarchy was the determinant of who got what. I assume then Russia was never truly a Communistic regime.

You're thinking of just the people that are being distributed too. The oligarchs and other upper leadership are not included in this. Why would you think that? Yes, Russia was/is truly a Communist state. They are no different than any other Communist country where the people are left out in the cold while the upper crust sit by the fire with full pockets and fat bellies.

This is exactly right.

I have looked up several sources of true Communism and none I have seen defines it as having Oligarchs. This is something that has evolved into the system but wasn’t a process to the system when it was founded. I understand how Russia administers their system but it doesn’t seem to be operating as a true Communistic state.

Several countries have tried it at this point and they all end up the same way. The theory is supposed to eliminate classes but the reality is that it just replaces it with a ruling class versus an impoverished class. It's worse than what it's trying to correct by many orders of magnitude.

That was my whole point. They claim Communism but it is a sham title because real communism philosophy has no room for people or systems that have wealth beyond the government as administrators.

But my point is that the notion that true communism hasn't been tried yet is a fallacy.

What we've seen is what theoretical communism looks like in the real world. An elite government class, impoverished citizens, no organized religion, and almost no freedoms is the natural and inevitable result of theoretical communism, even if it's unintended. It can't be avoided.

So, publicly executing people that are fighting back, in a war, to defend their country.

That is the textbook definition of a war crime. To be able to publicly execute them would mean they are under your control. Meaning they have been captured. And you can not execute prisoners.
100%.
