Of course, but what if he's crazy enough to take the world out with him? One of their big TV pundits was apparently arguing that a world without Russia wasn't worth having anyway, something Putin has said in recent years.

It is really off-putting how he makes everything about himself but hopefully this thread doesn't turn into another one all about him.

Indeed. It is off-putting at this moment right now. Show support for Ukraine, condemn Putin and STFU about everything else.

Hopefully everyone on both sides of the aisle now agrees that NATO is, and at least as far as our lifetimes go, always will be one of the bedrocks of our society and geopolitical order.

Negotiating who pays what and so forth is fine, but it's importance should never be questioned or dismissed.

Maybe not her but tons of people like her. The environmentalists had a big hand in this debacle, from shutting down Keystone to moving away from nuclear power plants in Europe -- leading to energy dependence on Russia.
