Anyone who follows the Cowboys knows the Cowboys are bad when it comes to diagnosing and disclosing injuries.

He's definitely out, regardless of what the Ginger says.
 
Orton is a swashbuckling kind of guy, I'm guessing he either flat out sucks or comes out and lights it up, no in between.
 
Reports: Cowboys to work out John Skelton and David Carr

The Cowboys haven’t ruled quarterback Tony Romo out for Sunday’s game against the Eagles, possibly because they have no obligation to say anything about Romo’s status until the first injury report of the week is issued on Wednesday.

Regardless, he’s injured badly enough to compel the Cowboys to kick tires on other quarterbacks.

Per multiple reports, the Cowboys will work out John Skelton and David Carr. They currently have no quarterbacks on the roster other than Romo and Kyle Orton.

Carr, the first overall pick in the 2002 draft, spent five seasons in Houston as the starter. He has served as a backup with the Panthers, Giants, and 49ers. Skelton spent three years with the Cardinals before bouncing around the league this year.

That's exactly what I'm thinking too.....no middle ground.

It'll be 280 and a few TD's with no mistakes, or 150 and a few picks in a blowout loss.
 
I just played as Orton in Madden and I did not notice a difference. :unsure

Former No. 1 pick David Carr, John Skelton, Tyler Thigpen to visit Dallas Cowboys


Free agent QB David Carr will visit the Dallas Cowboys this week, the Dallas Morning News' Brandon George has confirmed.

Tyler Thigpen and John Skelton will also visit the Cowboys.

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said the team will sign a third quarterback because of the injury to Tony Romo. The Cowboys have Kyle Orton as their main backup.

Carr, the No. 1 overall pick by the Texans in the 2002 draft, was cut by the New York Giants in the preseason.

Skelton was cut by the Tennessee Titans last week.

Carr, who played in San Francisco in 2010, had played in 11 games for the Giants.

Carr's first tour with the Giants was in 2008-09. He appeared in nine games, completing 33 of 42 passes for 340 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. After playing in one game for the 49ers, Carr came back in 2011 after Sage Rosenfels suffered a back injury. Carr did not play in the regular season or postseason that year, but earned a Super Bowl ring.

Carr was drafted by expansion Houston. He played five seasons with the Texans and one with the Carolina Panthers before joining the Giants. In his 11-year career, Carr has completed 1,353 of 2,267 passes for 14,453 yards, 65 touchdowns and 71 interceptions. He has been sacked 267 times, including a record 76 as a rookie in 2002.

Some tidbits about Skelton from the Titans' website:

Skelton (6-6, 250) is in his fourth NFL season and started 17 games during his time with the Arizona Cardinals. For his NFL career, he has thrown for 3,707 yards and 15 touchdowns, while producing three 300-yard performances.

He entered the NFL as a fifth-round selection by Arizona in the 2010 NFL Draft from Fordham. As a rookie, he started four games for the Cardinals. In 2011, Skelton started seven games and threw 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions, while earning a 5-2 record in those starts. He started six games in his final season in Arizona last year.

In April of this year, he was waived by the Cardinals and claimed by the Cincinnati Bengals. He was waived by the Bengals following training camp and spent a week in October with the San Francisco 49ers.

Skelton started 41 games during his college career and finished as Fordham’s all-time leader in passing yards (9,923) and touchdown passes (69).

Thigpen went 1-10 as a starter for the woeful Chiefs in 2008 after both Brodie Croyle and Damon Huard went down with season-ending injuries. He threw for 2,608 yards with 18 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He was a seventh-round draft pick by Minnesota in 2007.

He most recently played as a backup in Miami and Buffalo.

Agreed. I don't want whomever we sign to ever see the field. Given that, the choices are interesting at least.
