He was really struggling in recent years, but I didn't realize he was that close to the end. RIP.
 
I used to unfollow that dude on draft weekend all the time because he would spoil picks before they were announced.

Yeah, I think he got cancer and probably had complications from it over the years.

I'm assuming that that's what he passed away from and if so, it's actually a bit impressive that he lived as long as he did after getting it, especially being an older man.

He was one of the good ones and a reminder of what good NFL reporting used to look like on ESPN when the network still cared about that.

RIP.
