Rehab

You're a good man, brother. I know what you do for a living. It is noble, and I applaud you for it. Mucho props.

Thank you, brother, and likewise.

One year today! I can't believe it has already been a year. Everything I have done since detox has seemed like bonus time. The first time I mowed the property was bonus time. The first spider I had to kill for the wife, bonus. The day I went back to work was bonus. I feel like I am living a second life. Everything this year has been a blessing. Everything. That's why I looked forward so much to the first chatter thread. The first "Stuff" thread. The first actual game (yeah, we won't get into the disappointment). If it weren't for my family I would be dead right now., and that is absolutely not hyperbole. I wouldn't have gotten to do all of these things again. It has opened my eyes to just how precious life is.

And, to all of you homos, thank you. I can't begin to express how much your encouraging words and pats on the back helped get me through the worst of all of this. After detox, I went through some pretty nasty depression. I had an overwhelming feeling of uselessness, regret, shame, and remorse (all well-deserved). You guys helped me through that by doing nothing but typing out kind words to a "stranger" on a message board. There is no way to quantify or measure how much you helped me. For that I will forever be in your debts. So, thank you. You'll never truly understand how much you guys mean to me.

1 year ago I walked into detox, and 5 days later was wheeled out in a wheelchair. Today, I am loving life and feel as if I have cheated to get here.

My one year coin pretty much sums it up:

So fucking awesome, brother. Congratulations. It is, absolutely, like a 2nd life.
