Can you imagine if Putin did this when Trump was in office?

"Proof he's a Putin puppet! Putin knew Trump would just let him have it!"

Never in my lifetime would I have thought this would be a question from a major news outlet.

Let's see if these goobers are all they are cracked up to be.

Wars of the future are cyber.

Putin probably saw that disaster in Afghanistan and our clown show emphasis on trans military members and flight suits for pregnant women and thought this was as good a time as any to start getting the USSR band back together. Disgusting, really.

Wonder how long before Xi takes Taiwan now.

If they were smart, they'd attack tonight.

Hey fellow Texans of the board... are you voting in the primaries?

Specifically, what do you think about Abbott? Happy enough with him or would you prefer a West or Huffines or someone else?

I will be voting. Dont want Abbot but dont think we will have a choice. Dont know much about the others yet.

His early response to the pandemic was fucking awful. I said since the beginning of this bullshit pandemic that you can't shut the economy down and he did. He redeemed himself some later with some things, but I think Huffines might be a better choice. I haven't decided yet who I am voting for. What are your thoughts?

Totally agree on Abbott. I think he's very underwhelming and pretty weak. Good enough guy, but I don't think he's a very talented politician.

I really think either of the other two would be good. Huffines might be so far right that he'd turn off some independents in the general, I'm not sure about that dynamic. I really like West. I like his former military service and his calm, dignified manner. And, frankly, I like that he's African American. I'm so tired of all that race garbage that the left uses to their advantage. I feel like he might appeal to more of those in the middle but I'm not positive about that.

I'm sure Abbott will win easily just because he's the incumbent, but as you said well, he's made a lot of mistakes and only redeemed himself somewhat because he saw how much people liked the policies of actual leaders like DeSantis.

My coworker has been talking to me about West for awhile. Doing a little bit of reading on his site at the moment and he has a list of 40 reasons why Abbot has failed. He also has his platform so not just reading the bashing. LoL.

I don't believe West is polling very well, but I could be wrong. But, I do think Huffines might have a better shot at beating Abbott. But, I can tell you, I would be fine with either Huffines or West. Only reason I said I might vote for Huffines is because of the better shot he might have of winning.

West probably isn't... I doubt his campaign has a lot of money. And there was that weird thing several months ago where his wife was pulled over for suspected DUI but then it came out (after too long) that she was completely innocent and blew a 0.0. Almost felt like someone was out to get him or something.

Anyway, Huffines does have money and I like what he says. You might be right about him in the general, too. You'd like to think anyone would beat that idiot Beto but I guess I'm still a little nervous about it. :lol

It wouldn't be the end of the world if Abbott is elected again, but I think I am ready for a change. What he did at the beginning of the pandemic is just something I'm not sure I can forgive and forget.

Might vote on election day (for the primaries). I have a positive view for Abbott overall (because he signed the abortion bill, the gun rights bill and a bill targeted intended to stop CRT in schools), but I did not care for his response to Covid.
The initial shutdown of businesses was terrible in hindsight, and the occupancy restrictions on businesses after things started opening back was not good, either. Mask mandates stuck around way too long.
All that said, I'm pro-life so the abortion bill holds much more positive weight for me than the Covid restrictions hold negative weight.
