Hmm, changing the rules midflight to get the outcome you wanted. I feel like we have seen this before.
 
Now that is absolute bullshit. Soon criticizing the CCP even here will be eliminated.

It sounds extreme, but what we're almost seeing is the US and China teaming up to eliminate criticism of both governments. We know China has always done that, but now the party in power here thinks that looks good to them, too.

Unlike in China, we still have enough free-thinking people that we can stop this. It won't be easy, but we can stand up to this bullshit.

The problem is that too many have bought into China's "social credit system" as a way to control people they don't like. Wanna tweet? Wanna get on a plane to visit your relatives? Then behave yourself.

my hope is greatly diminished in this regard as folks seem so easily swayed by the tide of public opinion coupled with what seems to be a rising fear of going against said opinion in order to avoid being branded a racist, not woke, etc

So as everyone chases silly shit like micro aggressions, "proper" pronoun usage, virtue signaling, Trump rage, etc, etc, it feels to me like the country has become the proverbial band playing while completely oblivious to the sinking Titanic we're all sitting upon created by this bloated government whose tentacles have reached seemingly every part of our lives while printing money hand over fist as if there will never be any consequence

its staggering to me and I fail to see how we can avoid a day of reckoning

Yep, Trump was the "dictator" but they pull this. And most of the MSM isn't showing how locked down the city is. It truly looks like an occupied foreign capital, not the one of our own country.

And I'm with you, it's like they're setting this up because they know they're going to push though some incredibly unpopular stuff. Why else would they do all this?
