In all fairness he is talking about those in a happy marriage whose wife passes away. Very different than a divorce. I hope to never experience that.

I met my current wife through a friend, and we were married about two years after my wife passed away. I am happy I remarried, because it gives me a reason to keep trying. When I was alone, I truly didn't give a shit what happened in my life.

I get it. My brother is the same way. He needs someone to be with him. I'm not judging at all. I'm just saying my personality doesn't lend itself to needing to have someone there at all times. Don't get me wrong, I love my wife more than life itself and the hole would be cavernous if I lost her. I just don't think I could ever love anyone else the way I love her.
