Definitely. Most normal people in everyday life would never even know the government is shut down except for a notice on some websites (like weather) that this page will continue operating normally during the shutodown.

But when I visit my mom -- who still watches the national news -- they bring it up first thing almost every day and run stories on it hurting people. That propaganda is what they're banking on.

I forgot about the fatties on SNAP, but they're not sympathetic victims.

Of course it is. They don't have the majority in the Senate, House or the President. The only leverage they have to get something done is by shutting the government down. It's still crazy to me that there is a person in this world that can't recognize this.

And it's all really just about these subsidies. The problem with subsidies is that they just drive costs up. Again, it's simple economics that even a blind person can see. And pouring more money into subsidies will do nothing but drive up insurance and health care costs.

Right and all the while blaming Republicans when it's very clearly the Democrats doing it.

It's like the abuser saying to the victim that you made me hurt you.

But they count on the truth getting lost in their rhetoric. It's what they always do basically.

The SNAP fatties are a large percentage of this country. And those who feel bad for the SNAP fatties is also large. Funny I saw a video of a lady who works at a nail salon complaining because SNAP going away hurt their business and they had to lay people off. Perfect microcosm of people in SNAP. They have money for food, they just may have to sacrifice other luxuries. They also have other means for free food. But the free food doesn't include Soda, which is like the largest percentage of SNAP money. Next the Soda industry will bitch about the lack of SNAP hurting their sales.

The actual sympathetic people to me are the government employees who continue to work but aren't being paid. Flight tower controllers for example. Which includes my sister and her ex husband. I feel bad for those people. Could you all imagine working and just not getting your pay check? That would have me fucking livid. But they seem to get minimal talk. It's all about the SNAP.

And they have a solution to that - more government subsidies and spending.

Their proverbial selling you the solution to a problem that they themselves created.

This is why I hate the fucking media so much. They have huge platforms that a big part of the general public still watches that perpetuates the lies and bullshit that comes out of the Democratic party.

Simplest thing is quit watching the national networks and figure it out. But that is too hard for some folks.

Its really quite impressive how they’ve conditioned their voters to believe everything they say without question.

The media is going to constantly decry this as inflationary, right?
