Horrific government overreach. Governments should never play the role of parents.

Not to mention, it's a way to track and police EVERYONE online, not just kids. How do you prove that you're over 16? You have to verify who you are, so you can no longer be anonymous on social media, which means if the government doesn't like something you said they can get you? And it has a chilling effect on top of that because people will be more careful about criticizing the government or oppressed group of the week for fear of reprisal?

I'd be beyond livid if they pulled something like that here.
