They were rising at a steady rate. But I'm talking 2-3% per year on average. They almost doubled after the second year of the ACA.

So Hillary can be tied to any hint of scandal yet Trump deserves only substantiated proof?

How did he achieve this level of trust?

And anybody can look at Trumps history of business and see he looks at anything he does and ties to how he can profit personally.

Exhibit 1 his charity that he stopped even donating too.

Interesting and from what I have read 2 to 3% where on the low end of rising rates.

Like I said, that is an average. We had years where they would go up 7-10%, but then we might get lucky and maintain that level for 3-4 years before the next hike.
 
We don't have health care in our country, we have health treatment for profit, substantial profit.

All of you railing against the ACA, better hope your conservative congressman, keep the provisions for pre-existing conditions and no lifetime caps in their non existent plan.

Otherwise, hope that you are lucky and you and your family are healthy as f**k the rest of your lives.

why should we?

if you can't hold down a job with corporate-sponsored insurance and can't afford to care for yourself, you're probably not a contributing member of society anymore. Keeping you around is a drain.

Theres enough food in this country to feed everyone Thanksgiving every night. We don't. There's enough land and material to build everyone a 4-bedroom home. We don't. We have enough medicine and doctors to treat everyone...you know the rest.

Seriously?

You don't get why provisions for pre-existing conditions are needed? Keep your fingers crossed and hope no one in your family ever gets sick, and you never change jobs.

Agreed. I would've loved to pursue a career in ventriloquism or alpine skiing, but health insirance is important with a family. On top of that, max 401k or whatever retirement strategy, forego frivolous expenses during my working years like season tix in Jerruh's suite and bought a smaller house to keep cash in hand.

Do you think people who are highest risk are people who got degrees in useless majors? How many people in this country do you think have degrees? This is seriously the most out of touch thing I've read on this board.

You misunderstand my comment then. Ventriloquism or alpine skiing don't require college degrees so not sure where you went sideways. Plenty of us bust our ass to obtain skills and education to toil away in a job in trade off for affordable health insurance and benefits.

And, no, college degrees are not required for a 401k. Plenty of companies that provide these benefits for full-time employees without college-educational jobs as well. Flip burgers at In-N-Out, barista at Starbucks, become an elevator mechanic and earn $150k before OT. Just get a full-time job and you're likely to get affordable healthcare - I'm not asking everyone to be a rocket scientist.

When it comes to college majors, plenty of biologists and chemists sure would've like to major in theatre or history, but they didn't because of job prospects.

We are a nation now where areas have minimum wage at $12/hour and people are now expecting affordable healthcare for being part-time, maybe unskilled labor. I would've liked to ditch high school and skateboard all day, but I knew the rules of the game are to get a job for these types of luxuries (not rights).

Iamtdg just showcased an instance where healthcare was affordable for 30 full-timers in his dept (who knows how many across his university) that had to be laid off because of ACA. In exchange for what, to provide affordable healthcare for thousands of people that couldn't hold down adult time job?

Whew. Glad Putin spoke out about how there are plots against Trump. That will certainly make people change their position.

This is what you get with a Duopoly and propaganda corporate media (FOX, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, ABC, CNN, etc.). This has been happening since at least Truman and the current direction is a direct result of the Democratic Party blocking the nomination of Henry Wallace as FDR last VP.

Every Time we had a chance to ease relations, our Presidents, Truman, Ike, Kennedy, LBJ, Nixon, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush and Obama, would seek to make them the bogyman. One tried to ease relations after Cuba, but Kennedy died. Others went almost there, but shied away, Carter, Reagan and Bush. The rest saw them as a plague, went back on deals, blamed them.

Russia isn't a great country, nor a friend, but they aren't a bogyman we vilify to keep those in power in power. I have no doubt they hacked the emails. That didn't cause Hillary to lose.

The content of those emails may have had some affect, but who is at fault for the content?

Not the Russians.

Our country is an oligarchy. We are controlled by the wealthy. Our politicians are bought and paid for, and I have no doubt, Trump will fall in line with the thinking of the Presidents before him. In many instances he already has, we can't keep fighting against each other. Blaming this group or that group for our woes, or perceived woes. Conservative and Liberal rhetoric and ideology never did anything but the people we have in power, in power.

If you want a change, stop voting party lines or because of one issue. If you want a change petition your state to add ranked balloting to your election process. If you want a change, petition your state for open elections and automatic registration. If you want a change get involved write your congressman, Senators, (local and Federal), Governor, President. If you want change, protest, write and get signatures for petitions, go door to door, speak to your fellow Americans you would find you likely have more in common then you think if you leave the ideology of our overseers at the door.

I don't know if this makes any sense to anyone, and not looking for a long debate. /rant
 
People wanted change and that's why the election outcome is what it is but the outcry of some would seem to say that party affiliation is more important than the possibility of change because the only one offering change has been rejected by them totally.
