Looks like it was commuted. He still has 5 years of federal probation. His mother was dying and they allowed him to leave prison early. Grok says he was caught with 12 grams, which is less than a half ounce. Seems like a ridiculously small amount to get federal time but it appears the sentencing guidelines are 5-40 years for 5-40 grams. And federal means you do 85% of your time.
I have clients who are on federal probation and they are quite stern. One of my fed guys got 9 months for 2 dirty UAs for marijuana.
Edit: @Cowboysrock55: He's done just over 18 months.
Yeah, I have no problem with what Trump did based on what you just sent me. Federal cases are a bitch. I imagine on a case like that I would have probably got probation on a similar state charge. And if not he would have gotten a sentence and probably served a year at most. You're not even talking about trafficking level quantities. Which for the State of Missouri is 30 grams of meth.
And honestly the real war has moved on to fentanyl at the state levels at least. And none of my state cases get picked up by the feds unless you're talking over 100 grams of meth.
