President Trump Thread (Part 2)

I heard somewhere that government salaries are only around 15% of the federal budget.

But then think about how much the federal budget is and even 15% (if that's true) is a high number in absolute dollars.

But yeah just cutting payroll isn't enough.

So Tulsi for DNI and Matt Gaetz for AG.

I can only imagine how much the left's heads are blowing up at that, especially Gaetz. :lol

It's too bad that Thune got Speaker. Not a good sign.

So the WSJ thinks Gaetz will be another Garland

Looks like Trump really saved Gaetz's ass. The House Ethics Committee was 2 days from releasing their report on him and after he was nominated, he resigned from the House, and the committee lost jurisdiction over him.

Wouldn't it be funny if he doesn't get confirmed... then he's a man without a job unless Trump wants an asswiper.

The president of El Salvador is a good friend of Matt Gaetz', that means he's a friend of mine. :art

How credible are the charges against him? Were they just another attempt to smear someone or are the charges legit? I don't know anything about it but I can see why people might have a problem with him being chosen.

I think just a smear job. IIRC all the charges were dropped.

Of course you hope there truly was nothing to them, but I think it was just a way to attach bad headlines to his name.

Yeah they were dropped. Which makes me think there was no substance to it.
There were two investigations if I'm not mistaken... the first one was a criminal one and it was dropped. The second one was the House Ethics investigation, which during the summer they said there were issues that warranted further inquiry. That is the one they are voting to release the report on Friday.

Yeah my point is that when a criminal investigation results in nothing I lean heavily in the direction of innocent.

House Ethics committee means far less to me. Rules of evidence, procedure, and bias make me care far less about that.
