Yes, like I said the only way it would work well is if their is an association with the NFL teams and their players. Sort of the way NFL teams use to send selected players to NFL Europe. It would be a great place to send guys like Obada (Or whatever his name is).

I always thought that if NFL Europe was in places like Sacramento, Oklahoma City, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Hartford, etc they never would have had a problem selling out the games.

This is exactly what I'd like the NFL to do. I know that some NFL GMs have voiced this as the NFL's solution to the QB dilemma since college football is not doing a great job of developing that type of talent for the NFL. The only good way to develop some of these young spread QBs out of college football is to put them in a pro system and actually let them play and get comfortable at it. A third string QB on an NFL team just doesn't get enough practice reps running a real NFL offense.

IMO, the cheaper way is to just allow bigger practice squads, like 22-25 guys, so that you can have practice reps with just the practice squad.

I've always thought that. It's dumb to have to narrow down further than that just for game day.

It's because of injuries.

Take the eagles for instance. Let's say Fletcher Cox gets hurt week 1. It's a hamstring, bad enough that he can't play week 2, but he should be back week 3 or 4. Not bad enough for IR.

If all 53 were active, they'd have to play a man short, and would be at some level of disadvantage against us week 2, assuming all 53 of ours were healthy. Essentially they'd be playing 52 on 53.

With the 45 man game day rosters, you can just make Cox inactive for a game or two and it is still 45 on 45.

It's supposed to help make the rosters stay even in case of injuries.

This is exactly the reason for it.

Minor league football isn't working out too well in Jacksonville.
