@Cotton you going to vote in your own poll?
I'm voting 10-11. I think the defense finally has a coordinator and enough coaches on the field to actually get lined up right (literally half the battle) and play.
I think a full offseason will be great for the DL and its two leaders, Clark and Williams. They'll have Toia, Ogbonnia, and Overton ready to play. The DE/Edge/OLB room has talent and depth for sure with Houston, Gary, Ezeiruako, Lawrence, Williams, and even Tyrus Wheat.
We are fine at ILB with Overshown, Barham, Winters, James, and Liufau (this is where I think he'll settle, not at edge), and Robinson on the outside looking in
Safety has changed completely with Hooker, Thompson, Downs, and Bell.
I'm a little concerned at CB with Bland, Revel, Durant, Locke, Moore, Carson, Bridges, and one other guy I'll never remember on the outside looking in.
Where I'm most concerned is OT and TE.
TE has good blocking from Spann-Ford, solid receiving from Ferguson, OK depth from Schoonmaker, and this new guy Fant, but they could use new blood in next year's draft.
OT is we are purposely ignoring how bad our fucking choices have performed. I mean
WTF? Guyton and Steele take turns playing like total shit. Thomas looked promising until he actually started some games, and then I almost felt sorry for Dak.
Shelton has a lot of hopes pinned on him. From our top two, you can't even rely on
basic performance play in, play out, and it's only because Dak has been stellar that we at times can get past this...
Except against decent teams. They harassed Dak to no end in 2025 and people forget this.
- Denver fucking humiliated our vaunted 'great' offense.
- Detroit and even Minnesota kept us well in check.
- Dak managed some heroics vs the Chargers, but didn't get a lot of help.
- We thought Chicago was bad when they played us, but they made our offense look truly below average, thanks to pressure and disguised coverages.
Guyton and Steele are the biggest reasons we won't win playoff games in 2026, because we can't score when we need to or get pressured into turnovers, regardless of all the numbers and hype from 2025 driven disproportionately high vs the Jets, Commanders, Raiders, and other scrubs.
Even still, there are a few games, Green Bay, Carolina, maybe the Chargers, where had we gotten decent defensive play I think we'd have won. Add in that throwaway loss vs the Giants in the finale and we have our 3-4 more wins, even though the Giants themselves have improved in a lot of areas being one of the few teams having a better draft than we did.
