Mike Zimmer coming up.
That would really be something else.
At least it might mean we sign Michael Johnson and bring back Terence Newman.

Yes, as disgusted as I am with the state of this team the offensive line is really coming together. Legitimately playing well. A couple of excellent young pieces in critical spots too. Tyron Smith is really looking like the franchise LT they were hoping for. From what I can tell Frederick is playing well for a rookie C. Everyone else is playing at least well enough because they're having some success and looking pretty good.
I will blame Jones for a lot of things principally personnel selection and other GM debacles but once the team takes the field I think the game falls under coaches and player responsibility. This game in particular falls that way because all the elements for a win were delivered. The coaches and players screwed pooch.

That is appropriate in the broad brush scheme of things but in this stand alone incident it was all on the working stiffs.Yes, this kind of thing is on the coaches and players. The guy that puts that together and sets the tone for the organization as a whole has to be included, though, IMO. He's the one who handpicked this coaching staff and invested in these players after all.

Well, sure, if you look at this as a stand alone incident. I look at it as yet another in a mounting series of embarrassing debacles that has taken place with this group of players/coaches. In-game it's on those for sure but I can't ignore that fact that Jerry is the one that assembled this mess. He has extended too many players that didn't deserve it, blown too many draft picks that could have provided better depth, handed the head coaching position to Garrett regardless of if he was ready or not, ran off a pretty good defensive coordinator to bring in a relic whose system was a poor fit for the personnel, et. al.

Well it is hard for me to blame any GM for a team blowing a huge lead but that's just me. By the way, great Job on the banner.
You can blame the GM for hiring him, and in turn not firing him.
That does not remotely address my comment. You are dealing in broad brush generalities and my comments are directed to a specific set of circumstances. I don't give Jones a pass on anything he deserves but this game is not not on him.
Yeah, and by extension if big leads get blown on an unusual basis you can blame the GM for not firing him. Did you know that in Cowboys history they had never blown a 21+ point lead until Detroit a couple of years ago, and now they have done it twice.
