Out of control dog problem

"Mom, I'm willing to compromise... Someone from your household is getting put down, you can choose who...or is that whom?"

Make it look like a dognapping with an obscure ransom note.

Then we she approaches you, make sure you shed a few tears for her loss.

Tell her you'll be glad to put in some money for the ransom.

When she mentions that the note demands $10million, act super surprised and weep again while muttering through tears, "there's no way we can come up with that much money...but I know you love your dog so I'll buy you a Maltese. I love you mom, but we'll probably never catch these assholes! I've arranged a meeting with the Maltese breeder tomorrow at 3pm."

:lol

But seriously... if she's on your property, and your own kids don't feel safe going outside, then you gotta tell her either the dog is gone, or they both are.

As a criminal defense attorney I have to highly advise against this. :lol

It's only illegal if you don't get away with it ;)

In any case, he has a farm and he has a legal right to put down an animal threatening his livestock in this state and anyone has a right to shoot an animal that poses an immediate threat to a child (and it's essentially your word against a dead pit bull's). Some counties are fanatical about making everyone take an animal to the vet and to have put down, but if you have a good story and stick to it you're not going to go to jail for shooting and burying a dog.

I know of someone that could find it a new home, can you spare the fare from Arizona and a pair of jorts?

I would never actually kill a dog. I'm just talking theory here.

NawwutImean?
If you're not going to kill it then restraining it seems a must. They don't 'escape' from the cable run. I don't kill animals either.

I would have no issues at all killing an aggressive dog if it was going to be anywhere near my kids.

It's old, probably in pain all the time. It's not compatible with the kids but there's humane ways of handling it. A dog run stops him from getting loose and isn't as confining as a fence. Mom wants him. When he is on the dog run, kids just need to avoid the area. It's a sad deal all the way around but this is what I would do and in fact have done before.

Depends on the age of kids and your proximity to other neighbors. You still run the risk of a small child no understanding or a neighbor going on your property. It's still a big liability once you know the dog is dangerous.

I agree, it's case by case. I'm just going based on this one case.

You know, sometimes a dog will accidentally get run over by a car a few times in a row.

If you want to be sneaky and not involve a gun...

Dogs really like the taste of antifreeze. Antifreeze does not like dogs. I recommend Prestone.

Just remove the bowl and mama will come out in the morning to find that poochie has gone on to his final reward. Poor fella...

Would need to be older antifreeze, the new stuff isn't toxic.

And by the way that's one of the most cruel ways to euthanize a animal. Slow, miserable, agonizing death.

I have never heard of this. Ethylene glycol is still a main ingredient in antifreeze, and that shit will straight up kill your ass.

I've heard of some antifreeze adding something to make it taste bad so animals and kids won't drink it. But it's still poisonous.

I think you're right, they just made it unattractive. The non toxic products are propylene glycol based.

Just put a bullet in it's head. Problem solved. It will never feel anything and your kids will be safe and your peace of mind will return.
