I miss NFL Films.....or at least NFL Films as we remember it.

One of my favorite things to do as a kid was watch old NFL Films re-runs on Sunday nights on ESPN after watching the late airing of NFL Primetime.

I'd stay up past my bedtime watching those episodes till midnight or so.

And what I most remember about the intros to the episodes was the clip of Joe Montana under center yelling out "Black 59 Razor!".

With the technology available today, NFL Films and the Sabols could have created some incredible content.

Tis a shame.

I've always wondered how he scored coke in Green Bay, the most white-bread hamlet in America.

I am a sure a road game somewhere other than GB is where he got hooked up.

Players and the equipment they wore seem to be clunkier back then. Makes for more dramatic NFL Films. You can feel the struggle.

I lived in the country, so we didn’t get a daily paper, either. So no sports page. No box scores. And I had to go to bed before the nightly news sports segment. I found out if my football/baseball/basketball team won the next day at school.
