NFL Draft Early Entries

Oklahoma's Jordan Phillips declared for the draft the other day.

From what I've seen from Kiper and a couple of other draftniks, he's being projected as a late 1st to early 2nd round pick.

I never saw that talent from him at OU. He was a solid player but rarely did he stand out to the point where I thought he'd possibly be a 1st round NFL draft pick.

Nelson Agholor, WR USC declared yesterday.

Shane Ray, DE/OLB Missouri
Shaq Thompson, LB Washington
Danielle Hunter, DE/OLB LSU

He's probably making a mistake. Talented like Gordon and could make an impact on sheer talent, but a lot of baggage over the long hall.

The dude is supremely talented. Hopefully he can make it.

Yeah he was a massive talent coming out of highschool and did nothing to disprove it at the college level. I think he will be a dynamic big WR in the NFL. Just how long that lasts will depend on where he goes and how much help he gets off the field.

Indeed. He's a head case.

According to ESPN, Winston just declared.

Not sold on him yet. Its hard to say what he will be without the close supervision he has been under. I think booze pointed that out earlier and i agree. I need to see how he does around others and with unfamaliar coaching. I dont think we havd seen the real Jamis when left to hia own decision making on the field. I want to see how he processes schemes and how he reads defenses on his own.

I will be curious to see where he goes in the draft. Lots of teams still have glaring needs at QB and there just aren't that many to go around, particularly in this draft. Based on that, the latest I see him going is 10 to the Rams.

Who do you think goes first, him or Mariota?

I'd say Mariota goes first. Even with him not coming from a pro-style offense think with his character he goes before Quinthy Winston

I think Mariota goes to Tampa. That is a good fit for him...warm weather and good conditions. I am not a big Mariota fan, but he seems the type of guy Smith would want leading his franchise.

What I find interesting is that Winston has said that he wouldn't announce his draft plans until after the championship game, but now his father leaks it out. Kinda weird.

Yeah, I would agree with both of you. I do think if Winston hadn't had all of the off-field stuff come up he would go first, but now, I can't see it happening.

I secretly root for him to go to the Rams.
