NFL Coach/GM Chatter

If Sparano wants to coach olines again I think we may have an opening

Not sure I want him.

Our zone blocking scheme fits our personnel. For him to come in, that means he goes man/gap blocking.

I would rather just promote Pollack.

Looks like he smells like kids.

I don't want him back...I like Pollack.

I am fine with that too. I would like someone with a little more history of running the ball to have input into the offense outside of Garrett and Linehan though

Who the hell is Jim Tomsula? Chances the 49ers thought they hired Don Shula?

Tomsula is their DL coach. He does have HC experience in the World League.

If they want to run and play defense, he can be okay provided they do something with the OC and get a guy who can make Kaepernick relevant again.

This hire tells me that the philosophical difference was Harbaugh wanting to throw more and run less.

49er fans are p!ssed about Tomsula. He was only their DL coach and now they're expected to lose Fangio.

Reports say 49ers have hired Raiders DC Jason Tarver as their new DC replacing Fangio.

Holy shit.

They are going right back to the hell that Harbaugh pulled them out of.

:lol @ the 49ers.

Yep. This is what happens when a GM is a dumb shit. The 49ers are going to collapse really quickly, especially with that fraud Kaepernick at QB. They'll learn very quickly how important Harbaugh was to their success, especially when they go 6-10 next season.

Some gems from Rex Ryan's Buffalo press conference this week. Their defense should be a pain in the ass but he'll still have to figure out QB for the first time.

After tapping the microphone and asking, "Is this thing on? Because it's getting ready to be on," Ryan exuded confidence and enthusiasm while talking about his plans for the Bills.

"I'm not going to let our fans down," he said. "I'm not going to do that. I know it's been 15 years [since Buffalo reached the playoffs]. Well, get ready. We're going."

Bills owner on Rex:
"This guy right here tells his Realtor, 'Where does the most snow fall in the area? I want to live there,'" Pegula said. "I mean, how Buffalo is that?"

From 49er forum:

i do think our new coach is the anti jh from the standpoint he will not micromanage, he will let the oc do his or her stuff.

:lol

I know people hate/ dislike Garrett here; but let's say season didn't go as it did and Garrett is gone. I think out new HC would be Norv or Del Rio. Can you imagine.

I doubt it. Jerry's had the opportunity to hire Norv before and didn't. And why Del Rio? Because he played a couple years here 25 years ago? Big deal. Lazy guess work.

Aside from Ryan I'm not thrilled with the hires right now, though. Quinn would be interesting.

I like the patience the Bears are showing in their HC search. I never understood why teams are in such a hurry to sign a coach while the playoffs are still going on. To me it's often times a rush to failure.

Why is it so hard to wait 2 weeks to ensure you cover all your bases? More times than not when teams rush these decisions they end up searching for a new coach in under 3 years.

If there's a hot coordinator out there, like Dan Quinn, why wouldn't you wait a few extra weeks to interview him and gauge his interest in being a HC? WGAS retreads like Del Rio are a dime a dozen and there are plenty of them to choose from. I thought the Raiders rushed the hire and will be paying for it over the next couple of years.
