Ansley was a DC with the Chargers just a few years ago and then was the "passing game coordinator" running a similar scheme as what I expect out of Parker in GB the last two years. GB had one of the better pass defenses in the league the last two years despite not having elite secondary talent so I feel good about the hire.

I don't know much about Smith except he recruited Delane to VT before coming to the NFL.

Nobody knows about this. We just have to hope Parker will be good and knows what he's doing picking assistants.

But at least it's not Jerry hiring old cronies. And that's what we asked for.

Oh, I am stoked about how this hiring cycle was structured, don't get me wrong. I had just never heard of those two and the secondary was easily the weakest link on our D last year.

In relation to Murray, ideally you want to see LB's run through blocks with physicality to get to the ball carrier.

With lesser LB's you'll see them hesitate and try to run around the blocks on one side or the other.

I've almost never seen LB's do what Murray would do in almost every game, which was to often automatically start retreating backwards at an angle to try to meet the ball carrier 10-15 yards downfield.

My favorite part is when he just runs to a place and stands there on a running play going a different direction. Like yikes.

This might be where BS's legendary people skills pay off... Not in motivating players, but in convincing Jerry to let him have more say.
