Yes, it is. Daniels made that movie successful just as much as Carrey did.

Seems pretty shitty. But reading up on it supposedly Carrey really wanted Daniels but the studio didn't. So they lowballed Daniels thinking he'd turn it down so they could pretend to have tried. But Daniels surprisingly accepted.
