Must See Movies

It's as close to a must see action flick as has come out in the last 5-10 years. Keanu is what he is from an acting standpoint, but it works for this character and the tragedy he deals with. Good story with great action.
 
John Wick was a nice surprise, but to me it was basically like Taken where Neeson was the bad ass and good at it.

Hopefully the sequels are not as disappointing.

Loved the movie but I have a hard time seeing a sequel carrying the type of emotion that drove this one.

The mythology around the hitmen elevates it over Taken for me, and has me interested in a sequel.

John Wick was the perfect vehicle for him. There were so many cool elements to the whole movie though...calling to make dinner reservations, the gold coins, the rules at the hotel he is staying in. These are not really spoilers, but when you see the movie it will make sense.

Keanu was just a bad ass...the way he would kill people, reload his weapon, etc...it was very businesslike, but brutal.
 
I think Wick benefited from very low expectations, with Keanu starting and all, good film, but people talk like it should be considered for GOAT...

It is a great movie...I'd put it in the mix with some of the movies in this genre. I think Collateral would be a good comparison...and I would take John Wick over Collateral.

Not true. I heard a lot of great things about it based on reviews before it actually came out in theaters and then I saw it almost immediately. I had a high expectation and was still very impressed.
 
As an aside...I may have mentioned this before, but Blue Ruin was an excellent movie.

Just did a google image search because I haven't seen that movie. That's messed up, dude. I was thinking it would be mid-90s Milano, not 1985.
