I get what you are saying, but that is one of the reasons I liked it. Most childhoods don't have some big narrative arc. Stuff just sorta happens and one day you are an adult.

Yes, but I didn't need a two and a half hour plus movie to tell me that. It was well made and I appreciated the effort, but I just don't get the accolades. The story needed some drama, or something to freaking happen.

The plot was so bland, you might as well consider him eating a pot brownie as a turning point.

I'm with you. Yes, the pace was slow & the movie lengthy but I like that Linklater resisted the urge to infuse too much drama. He kind of just let it happen. Maybe the fact that the family was just so relatively normal & did not have anything spectacular happen to them bored some of the audience but there were a lot of things going on in the interpersonal relationships throughout the movie.

I thought the process was pretty fascinating and I was never really bored at any point in the movie. I guess maybe some people came away from it feeling like Patricia Arquette's character late in the movie where she broke down crying & said "I just thought there would be more". I can understand that, but I thought there was plenty.

According to Deadline, Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy, Jurassic World) is the man Disney want to fill Harrison Ford's fedora in their Indiana Jones reboot. The studio purchased the rights from Paramount back in 2013, and has apparently now "set its sights on Chris Pratt as the swashbuckling archaeologist they hope to build the new franchise around". There's no indication in the report as to whether Pratt has responded or an offer has been made, but Deadline themselves caution to take this as a "dishy informed rumor" for now. We first got word that Disney might be thinking about a reboot all the way back in March of last year, but this is the first we've heard since then. There is also some Twitter buzz around Pratt's GOTG cast-mate Bradley Cooper being looked at for the role, though Deadline make no mention of that. What do you guys think about this?

The Indiana Jones mythology is very important to me...my favorite movie of all time is Raiders of the Lost Ark. If I was to pick someone though, this is the guy.

The latter three are said to still be in negotiations, but the Tweet below from director Paul Feig seemingly confirms that they're in! McCarthy and Wiig are no strangers to working together and with the filmmaker after Bridesmaids. Jones meanwhile can be seen in Chris Rock's Top Five, and McKinnon was nominated for an Emmy for her SNL work. How do you guys feel about this all-female cast of Ghostbusters?

Don't think this needs a reboot but I can see it being very funny with this cast and director.

Of course it won't come close, that's why my expectations are low. But lots of times with low expectations, the movie turns out decent. Get me some Ackroyd and Murray cameo's and those chances increase.

I like Wiig and McCarthy. I'm not too sure about the SNL people since I haven't watched in a while. Loved Bridemaids though, and The heat is underrated. I don't think you could put together a cast today that was as good as the original, but it wouldn't shock me if this is pretty good.

+Leslie Jones is playing Abby Bergman, who co-authored the book with Garber. Since publication, the two former colleagues had a falling out and went their separate ways. Abby more actively chases ghost a la Ghost Hunters. This tension between academic investigation (Wiig's character) and mainstream media investigation (Jones' character) is central to the story.

+Kate McKinnon is playing Abby Berman's new partner, Jillian.

+Melissa McCarthy is playing Patty, an NYC subway worker who stumbles across the main, supernatural threat in the film.

+Sony wants Peter Dinklage to play the main villain in the film. Whether this role is as a ghost or human is unclear.

+Sony also wants Bill Murray to play a character named Martin Heiss, a man who is "a professional supernatural debunker who is out to prove that the Ghostbusters are frauds."

Pretty much...and it is find of funny that they want Murray to play the Atherton/pessimist role.

The best part about that is that they are distinguishing themselves from the original completely. Murray playing a completely different character keeps the original standing on it's own without a true sequal.

Saw it, liked it a lot. The story is not over compelling however Pitt is top notch as always. Shia Lebouf, eh, I don't get the hype.

Great cinematography, looks and sounds great on a surround sound system.
