Finished Project Hail Mary. Biggest flaw was Grace, a biologist, being able to concoct a translator on the fly so as to communicate with an alien life form. Totally implausible.

You have to either imagine that biologist is smart enough to do that, or you have to imagine the lead lady has a wiener.
