Golf is more akin to figure skating. For something to be a sport I think you need both offense and defense. Golfing is really just one man out there performing all by himself. Sort of like figure skating.

I remember that. And my thinking was the same then.

With training and practice, it's possible I could become a race car driver. I could train and practice until I was blue in the face and still not be able to cover Dez or play short stop in the majors.
 
Anybody that relies on their owner, sponsors, mechanics, and pit crews to be competitive is disqualified in the athlete discussion. Jordan back in the day would have still kicked major ass playing barefoot on a dirt court with an old scuffed up ball.

I might watch a UFC match, Boxing match, a Final Four here, a World Series there, maybe even a Stanley Cup game if there is nothing else to do.
