Micah Parsons Traded To Packers

I think they will love Clark once they get to know him.

But they don't give two shits about draft picks. 3 years from now when those picks are on the team and making real contributions half these players will be gone. Roster turnover in the NFL happens fast. So most of these guys won't be around to see what happens with the picks.

yep. If anything, players should hate draft picks. These are potentially players taking their jobs.

Yeah 2 number ones alone is not good enough. And while I like Clark, I think he is at minimum a very good starter, I would have preferred a second round pick and a third kicked in or something like that. Would be different if we traded him to a team I think will be shitty. Like the Bears or something. But who knows the NFL can be crazy, maybe the Packers have a bad year.
Karma owes us.

Exactly, they could never be happy about trading Micah away for a guy they don’t know and some draft picks, unless they actually hated Micah

I just want to stop the run. If they accomplish that then this trade will be viewed ok. If we still can’t stop the run after losing Parsons then Jerry will be at fault.

Don't forget the Bills record that year we traded down with them. Similar kind of thing.

Of course Bill would've just taken Spears earlier, but still.

Gonna be sweet when Love pops an ACL trying to get away from Ezeiruaku and we end up with Peter Woods.

Peter Woods would be awesome. Especially if one of these young DEs on our roster steps up and looks like a stud. Like Ez plus a stud young DT would give is something to build around for a long time on defense.

Here’s a snapshot of Peter Woods in action for Clemson—highlighting his presence and build on the defensive line.

Peter Woods Scouting Report & Prospect Overview
High School & Recruiting Profile

  • Hailing from Thompson High School in Alabaster, Alabama, Woods led his team to four consecutive state championships, earning Under Armour All-American honors and recognition as one of the top recruits nationally in the 2023 class—ranking No. 9 overall and top defensive tackle by ESPN (Wikipedia, NFL Draft Buzz).
  • He was known as a compact, explosive defensive lineman, praised for generating disruption with his first-step quickness despite being slightly undersized compared to typical elite defensive tackle prospects (NFL Draft Buzz).

College Career (Clemson)

  • Freshman Year (2023): In 12 games, Woods recorded 26 tackles, three tackles for loss, earning Freshman All-American honors (Wikipedia, NFL Draft Buzz).
  • Sophomore Year (2024): He improved to 28 tackles, 9 TFLs, 3 sacks, and a forced fumble over 11 games; he also demonstrated versatility by lining up both at DT and DE (NFL Draft Buzz, TheDraftNetwork.com, Tankathon).

Measurables & Athletic Profile

  • Listed at 6′3″, 315 lb (some sources note his height appears closer to 6′2″ on film due to his low pad level) (Wikipedia, Dailymotion).
  • Clocked a 4.75-second 40-yard dash—a remarkable time for someone of his size (NFL Draft Buzz).
  • Elite strength, explosion, and athleticism allow him to bend, drive, and squeeze through creases with unexpected ease (TheDraftNetwork.com, Football Scout 365, Dailymotion).

Strengths & Playing Style

Areas for Improvement

  • Arm length and overall length limitations—his build isn’t prototypical for elite DTs, requiring him to compensate with leverage and technique (TheDraftNetwork.com, NFL Draft Buzz).
  • Pass-rush repertoire could expand—often relies on initial explosion and bull rush rather than varied move sequences (NFL Draft Buzz, TheDraftNetwork.com).
  • Consistency baseline—maintaining high performance across all reps is key to reaching his ceiling (TheDraftNetwork.com).

NFL Draft Outlook & Projection

  • Strong early buzz surrounding Woods as a potential top overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, with several outlets placing him among the elite prospects in the class:
  • Draft profile from NFLDraftBuzz rates him with an 88.2/100 score, ranking #11 overall and #3 among DL; projects him as a mid-first-round pick (NFL Draft Buzz).
  • The Draft Network calls him:
    • "NFL-ready," with "rare twitch, power, and explosiveness" and clean technique,
    • Projects him as a Round 1 — All-Pro caliber pick if consistency holds (TheDraftNetwork.com).

I'm really digging the AI era. Remember, be kind, because it will remember you in the future.

I think he might end up being the highest non-QB taken in the draft, he doesn't look too far off of Jalen Carter as a prospect.

I agree and odds are we won't be anywhere close to high enough to draft him. But its a long season ahead and you never know. Lots of moving parts with the Cowboys, Packers and a draft prospect.

As of right now Woods is the only guy I'd consider moving up for, but it's going to be a really strong DL group in the top 10 with TJ Parker (also Clemson) and Keldric Faulk, so even if we end up around 8-10 with one of the picks we'll have some strong options.

Just gotta hope the Packers fall flat or are hit by injuries at key positions the next two seasons.
You know the universe will not allow this.

Remember back in the day when we acquired Cleveland's first rounder? They had been picking in the top 5 for yeeeeeaaars. Then when we get their pick? Yep. They win 10 games and we now get pick 20.

Law of averages says we are due for the opposite?

But in the end, is a pick in the low 50s worth not doing this deal?

Well, I'm talking about more than just 1 additional 2nd, but yes. If he's more valuable to you to keep than trade, then you keep him.

What if the alternative was having him fake his back injury, miss games, be a huge distraction, and have his value continue to decline? I don't know I can say that would be worth it.

Well, I agree he was making a pest of himself and I do think that's untenable.

But my solution would be to sign him rather than accept nickels on the dollar to unload him to GB.

But it wasn't a GB or nothing scenario to trade him. I don't believe for a second that other teams wouldn't have been willing to trade for him and sign him to the contract he wants.

And if another team is interested, plus has a greater chance of picking in the top half of the draft, I'd be much more inclined to accept a 2 firsts plus a player deal.

But barring a trade where the compensation makes sense, yeah I'd have just signed him. Then you don't have to worry about him holding in or out or whatever else.

Our run defense has an almost totally different core than that 2023 Swiss cheese playoff defense with guys like Clark, Murray, Sanborn, Kneeland, and Liufau joining Damone Clark and Osa.

Osa still doesn't stop the run, but many of the others are proven.

So it's not like Clark is a magical solution by himself, but he's a major addition and central to our new approach. All these other guys are going to be better because of him.
