Mendez: Jerry Jones says Romo is creative like Sean Payton

Lends credence to my anti-Ace position that you guys need to stop bitching about the playcalls though.

Bullshit.

3 straight fade/back shoulder passes from the 2 yard line that all fail definitely calls for criticism.

The o-line doesn't help Garrett, but your boy still has a long list of poorly called games and drives under his belt that have deserved the criticism thrown his way.

All I know is that I wanted Garrett to eventually be our HC back when he was Troy's backup

I'm calling it now, Romo will be HC of the Cowboys

My point is nobody on here thought Payton would be a great head coach back when he was with us. People were suprised that he was even being interviewed for jobs and then became head coach of the Saints. They were mostly indifferent to the guy. Then when he succeeds they act like they knew all along he would become a good one. People on here act like they know all things football and are the smartest guys in the room, so when they're all wrong I like to point it out. That's all.

Who is acting like they knew all along? Where do you see that?

Have you not read the board the last 6 or 7 years?

I think you like to expand one or two opinions that you didn't like back in the day to the whole board so you can remember yourself as one prophetic voice shouting in the wilderness.

He's also trying to move the target. First it was, none of you knew Payton was great when he was here so zip it. Then it was people keep saying they knew all along about Payton. Now it's people have been saying it on here sometime over the last six or seven years. At some point. Somebody. Somewhere.

None of which is relevant to the original topic of this thread. Or even anything that occurred in this thread.

What were we talking about again?

Got it. You all knew Payton was going to be a great head coach. Good thing the archives are gone when most of you were indifferent with the hire when FJ hired him and were surprised he was actually getting head coaching interviews.

Most of you guys think you know a whole hell of a lot more about football than you actually do. At least I can admit I don't know squat.

Again, who is saying that? You are arguing against something no one here is saying.

Bullshit.

It's not bullshit. You complain about everything. Just like many people did about Payton.

There are legitimate levels of criticism over playcalling... then there is your level.
3 straight fade/back shoulder passes from the 2 yard line that all fail definitely calls for criticism.

I suppose that is the only scenario where you criticize playcalling?

The o-line doesn't help Garrett, but your boy still has a long list of poorly called games and drives under his belt that have deserved the criticism thrown his way.

And there's an even longer list of playcall complaints that were completely unwarranted by you and others.

At least Payton was the offensive coordinator of a super bowl team, then spent 3 years under Bill Parcells before he was given a HC role. Payton had a comparatively rapid rise to the top but he wasn't hired when he was totally unqualified like Garrett. He also wasn't hired due to pseudo-nepotism.

No, it'll be Tanney. He'll be a QB coach for a year, then he's for sure ready for the big job, no doubt about it.
would be poetic justice to see Garrett have to have a HC-in-waiting on his staff
