Probably, Helman has the track record that he gets it.

Even so, I don’t like that his comment is focusing solely on Schottenheimer then. Makes it seem that Schottenheimer has a chance to succeed.

Every comment should be directed at the Jones’.

He uses the same qualifier when he says he would write an embarrassingly big check if it would "guarantee" he'd win a super bowl.

It's a way to weasel out of things he doesn't want to do.

Of course there are no guarantees.

But why wouldn't you do everything you can do to maximize your odds of winning?

The answer is because it would cost him more money and it would require him to step aside.

If there were years on Earth left for him, I wonder how long and what it would take for him to acquiesce.

Washington and Detroit making us the longest drought hasn’t. I doubt if we were the last NFL team to win a SB would, either.
 
It just dawned on me, Deion must be fuming if he had even 0.01% interest in this job.

He hated Marty Schottenheimer for fucking him over when he prevented him from joining the Raiders by claiming him off waivers.

Deion was never interested in this job. If he was, you think somebody with his ego and love for the camera wouldn't have said something? That there wouldn't have been a formal interview? There was time to do so.

This was just Jerry fanning the media flames and Deion thinking he'd go along with it to plant the seed that he's wanted by the NFL and set the stage for more money from Colorado.
 
Flipped over the CBS for the other game and their "insider" guy said Cards OL coach was interviewing here for OC and to watch him because he has a good chance to get the job?
