McCarthy Gone - Now the search is on - Schottenheimer Hired

My only hope with the inevitable Moore hire is that they pair him with a strong DC (Zimmer, Frazier, Dennis Allen or maybe even Eberflus) and then maybe we can ride a strong defense and Jeanty (best believe he'll be the pick under Moore) to being relatively competitive.

Kind of similar to what you're seeing with the Eagles right now, strong defense, strong running game, so-so passing game.
The Eagles run game this year is more about what they do and Barkley.

Moore had his spells of being Garrett-like with a preponderance of passes.

Oh I know, I don't think there's anything special about Moore's run game scheme and it was actually one of my biggest complaints when he was here (it was basically the same simplistic zone shit we did with Garrett before Moore ever joined).

I just think we could have a strong run game for a few years with a potentially special RB like Jeanty and some decent young talent on the OL.

Another great insight from that article:

Jones philosophically does not believe in paying for services he’s not receiving and he values the market price of players more honestly than the market price of coaches.

No shit?

Coaches are a commodity.

Goes all the way back to All Jerruh, no Jimmuh.

He prioritizes the business side over winning.

But you wouldn't believe the size of the check he'd write!

Been reading a lot of tweets about Cowboys and Glenn/Johnson saying they cant interview them until after their teams are done. My question is then how did they get to interview Moore? Am I missing something or are the tweets misleading? I always thought that once they got passed a certain point you couldnt interview anybody until after their season was done.

I didn't understand that either. The only difference I see is they had a bye so they could interview in person.

If we dont want him as HC then we sure as hell wont get him for DC.
