Machota: How the Cowboys plan to address biggest hole on their roster

True but we traded down to get him which made it much more palatable.
I don't really conflate the two. I mean, yeah. I guess people can say you got player A and player B from trading down. But that would stand true no matter who you took after the trade. You still have to go by your board. And our board with Frederick's place on it clearly didn't match up with most everybody else's. Well, people doing the chirping, anyway. We have no idea if maybe another NFL team or more viewed Frederick the same as us and might have taken him higher than the "experts" predicted he'd go.

Why Hill? Rodriguez is a guy I would reach for over Hill.

Bigger, faster, stronger. If you're looking for someone that's going to be more punishing in the middle Hill may be the preference.

Rodriguez is just such an insane play maker though.

Why are you looking at me?
Not just you. Hell. Probably from me, too. Because we are more apt to talk about the players we're more familiar with. Which gives the other guys more information than they'd normally have on a guy.

If we were in need of a WR, you could bet your ass I'd be pimping Bryce Lance here like it was my job. I'd still love to have him. I think he's going to be a good one. But with where we stand at WR vs where we stand across our entire defense, I couldn't justify spending 92 on him. And really, I expect him to go earlier than that. Possibly much earlier. I would not be shocked to see him firmly in the 2nd round when it's all said and done.

Aside from Cotton's bullshit talk Rodriguez really did ace the entire process.

Obviously excellent during the season, he was also impressive at the Senior Bowl and then tested surprisingly well.

It wouldn't shock me at all if they had him as the top guy amongst those three.

Cotton’s obnoxiousness makes me not want to love the player.

Absolutely, I really don't think you can go wrong with drafting him. I think he is a super intelligent LBer as well.

No way is Hill a top 20 player. None of those ILBs are.

I wouldn't be too happy if they took one at 20. There's no need when you can move down. It's not even a high-value position.

It's like with Guyton. Looks like a bad pick, but at least we got Beebe out of it, too. If we'd stood pat and just taken Guyton, it would really look extra bad.

So easy for us to say.

But that is an easy one. That's not some far fetched dream scenario.

I would be fine "losing" the trade by the trade chart. Just get in the neighborhood and it's fine.
