Awesome! Good thing that's all it takes, is washed up old players who have done it already to impart their knowledge on the new generation of players.

He has the Brian Urlacher Body. Now Needs to develop the Urlacher Brain. He has a lot of time to do that. I wont judge him before Season 3.

I thought Leighton did some good things. Made a few mistakes but what was great to see was he was looking guys up. Pre-snap he looked like Lee, getting the mental aspect down will go very far in his development

You have no idea what mistakes he made or what he looked like "pre-snap," stop fucking talking out of your ass.

I think he didn't put 100% effort on purpose or as instructed by the coaches. It was clear he is not there to attack. You could see he was not engaging in tackles that much.
I think they put him there w/o Lee or Jaylon to let him see how offenses run, how he lays the defensive calls to his teammate .. That was the main purpose of him being there

Look, I'm getting old. I get some amount of "stay off my lawn" emotion.

But I'm sorry. I just can't stand that place or most message boards, for that matter, for more than like five minutes. It's all entirely the same, these places all seem to foster and attract the same exact types of good ol' boys or 15 year olds who don't know jack shit about anything. They laugh at the same old tired, unoriginal jokes that your dad makes all the time. They generally don't have any type of knowledge or worthwhile insight yet they love to hear themselves talk. Most of them are sickeningly devoid of the ability to see any positive, but even the ones who are negative generally cling to the worst banalities and reductions to an argument's simplest form.

I can't fucking stand it over there for more than like 30 seconds. It's so much bullshit. All of it.

And this is the basic level of intellect and arguing ability of most of the country.

I mean, I feel like an asshole, but how is it possible that I'm so much smarter than all these dorks? And I don't mean "me" specifically, but rather, even most of the people on this board are much more capable of having a reasoned conversation than those simpletons.

Makes sense. It’s the main reason membership is and will always be sparse around here. No one needs another “Extreme Skins” type Cowboys board full of Hos and people who don’t know a damn thing about the game.

Wasn’t there a time when people kept giving hostile shit about his post count and he kept insisting he didn’t care about it and he could reset it to zero and it wouldn’t bother him. And eventually did to prove a point but only to put it back to whatever it was originally like two days later?

Apparently is a big deal there as having an "insider friend".

It's been awhile since I've posted one of these, mainly because I haven't seen my Insider friend in almost a year. He works as a contractor in my office so we see each other in passing every once in awhile. I need to keep this short and sweet because i'm slammed at work, but wanted to share because each time I have in the past, quite a few of you really appreciated the input (while a bunch of you also remain skeptical, which is totally fine by me). ​

Some of the input I've received in the past when speaking to "John":​
  • Greg Hardy didn't have a snowball's chance in hell in remaining here because his attitude was terrible
  • Brice Butler was extremely arrogant and wouldn't have a future here
  • Dez time was limited
  • Jason Garrett was locked in and far from the hot seat
There's more but it's not coming to me because it was such a long time ago. I do remember that he was right about a lot of things, but not right about everything which makes sense since he's not on the coaching staff. ​

In seeing him this time here is some of the more recent input he provided:​
  • TTaco has a terrible attitude. Has butted heads with Haley consistently and while he has the natural talent, he lacks a positive attitude and isn't coachable. Said he wouldn't be surprised to see us waive him even while still on rookie contract.
  • Says Dorrance Armstrong is for real and is the guy to keep an eye on rather than Taco.
  • Says Jaylon Smith is still only at 85-90% and has A LOT more to offer as he continues to heal.
  • Says going after Earl Thomas in FA is unlikely as we don't feel the need to pay him especially after coming off of season ending injury.
  • Believes Tyron Smith should be shut down for the year. The guy is seriously banged up from head to toe.
  • Says Cole Beasley's attitude is crap. Mentioned a play where the ball hit him in the head and rather than trying to make the play he stopped and looked at Dak before realizing the ball was still in play. Said he got ripped by coaches for not continuing until the whistle was blown. (i didn't watch the Indy game so i don't know what he's referring to). But said Cole will most likely be gone next year
  • Said Linehan is most likely gone along with Kellen Moore.
  • Here's where it gets crazy......
  • Says we aren't as high on Dak as we say we are. Doesn't believe he gets a big contract. Says we really like Mullens from San Fran. ????? Can see us making a trade for him at some point.
  • I'm a Dak supporter so I obviously didn't want to hear this but I'm just reporting
  • Says we'd also be open to Romo coming in to join the coaching staff. I know it's crazy, I SWEAR i wouldn't make this up. maybe my guy is full of it, but this is what he told me.
That's all I have for you guys. Please don't PM me asking me to ask him specific questions, as I don't know when i'll see "John" again. Please don't ask me to prove my source is real, as I truly don't care to prove anything. I'm not here for fame or credit. I'm just a cowboys fan sharing info I've received as I'd like anyone else to as well. If I remember anything else I'll add to this thread later! ​
