:lol

I was just about to comment about that warning from Reality.

It's pretty much like North Korea over there. They want to control what the fans think and discuss. The flag and anthem are legit Dallas Cowboys news stories. Just because they don't talk/post about the issue won't make it go away.

Next Zone's gameday chatter during the national anthem, maybe I'll just go over there and post a:

~standing up~

Not the zone so doesn't belong ITT but rules are made to be broken.

This sites URL normally autopopulates in my browswer when I type a D in the url bar. But I guess DCU did instead and I found myself there. Took a moment and perused a few threads.

Maybe its like when you're swimming you feel fine, but once you get out of the water you realize how cold it is. But having been away from there for so long, I was amazed at how bad that place is. There seems to be an influx of new posters, and they're your typical cowboys fans yahoo morons. And there's a thread where Doomsday uploaded some app or something where you can record a message and post it, so you have to listen to the post instead of read it. In typical shit idea Doomsday fashion, he rolls it out and is excited about it and posts a bunch of dumbass messages trying to get others to follow suit, but no one does.

IMO that place used to be pretty good when Shiek owned it. Maybe it peaked around 2011/12 or somewhere around that. It's unrecognizable to me now.

Is mschmidt64 posting as diehardblues at the Zone?

Im supportive of Garrett because of our dysfunctional situation. I believe he’s probably as good a puppet as Jerry will attract.

And while he has some obvious coaching flaws presents some assets to offset and overcome Jerry Ball.

That said , I’d fire him if I thought there was a better solution within Jerry’s parameters.

My response is be careful what you wish for. Different is not always better.

Personally , based on all of the HC we’ve had this era I like the influence Garrett has had on Jerry in building this team along with how he continues to hold the team together thru all of the distractions.

I think there’s only one commodity that can overcome our dysfunctional situation with Jerrys meddling is more elite talent which we’ve seen some success.

dhb said:
Firing Garrett is an easy reaction.

Replacing him within Jerry’s limitations in attracting a more experienced and proven HC who’d be willing to succumb to the puppetry working under Jerry is quite another huge element to overcome.

Who do you think would be a good puppet candidate to replace Garrett? I’m open and listening..

To me that’s like quitting a job without having another one lined up.

Your so frustrated with your current situation your willing to take a step back for a lesser job.

That’s not a sound business decision. It’s an emotional reaction.

dhb said:
I’m talking about holding the team together beginning with taking over a 1-7 team rallying them to finish 6-10 or thru all the distractions like a player getting killed, suspensions, injuries and historically awful defensive teams like the 8-8 teams keeping them competitive until final week. Those teams had no business winning more than 4 or 5 games. Our worst teams since the expansion years and late 80’s.

Apparently some fans can only measure success with making the playoffs and playing for championships?

The fact we even had 17 meaningful games those years was quite a feat. Those teams weren’t going anywhere if they happened to get in. That’s when I knew Garrett was the one who could overcome all of the adversities Jerry Ball could throw at you while continuing to bring in more talent rebuilding the team.

Then once we had become a playoff team again in 2014 took another blow in 2015 losing our franchise QB another huge hurdle to overcome .

So spin it however you choose supporting your narrative but only one losing season is quite a feat considering the situations and teams he’s had. And if he has another winning season this year it will be 4 in the the last 5 . And possibly 3 playoff appearances in last 5. Which will be more playoff appearances than any HC since Jimmy.

I can't stand how dumb most people are.

Not targeting anyone on this board in particular. I was just reading over at the Zone, though, and thinking to myself, "This is a microcosm of the American populace." In one dumbass thread about Leighton Vander Esche, I had to wade through the most bland cliche's you can imagine about the following topics:

1) "Back in my day" tough guy nostalgia
2) HR Department proceedings
3) Universal Basic Income
4) Whether 21 year olds go through growth spurts
5) An excuse making fest for why LVE didn't have a good first game

I mean, the amount of know-nothing, limited insight, juvenile responses that do nothing but fall back on tired cliches, stereotypes of Americana, old timey culture, and football platitudes, I mean, it's like talking to the fucking wall over there. It's like everyone is racing to get in the first and last words so they can see their name show up on the page, and you can be sure that most of the words in between will convey absolutely nothing of any insight, value, or actual analysis. You get tons of gems like this, though:

It’s possible he’ll make a big jump by Game 1. Also possible his rookie season could look like Taco’s did last year, not showin up until late in the season.

You don't fucking say?

Or this one:

Sean Lee is the caliber of student of the game that Romo was, if anyone's going to tutor our brand new LBer into becoming a stud ASAP, it's him.

Awesome! Good thing that's all it takes, is washed up old players who have done it already to impart their knowledge on the new generation of players.

Or:

He has the Brian Urlacher Body. Now Needs to develop the Urlacher Brain. He has a lot of time to do that. I wont judge him before Season 3.

Three years, eh?

I thought Leighton did some good things. Made a few mistakes but what was great to see was he was looking guys up. Pre-snap he looked like Lee, getting the mental aspect down will go very far in his development

You have no idea what mistakes he made or what he looked like "pre-snap," stop fucking talking out of your ass.

Or:

I think he didn't put 100% effort on purpose or as instructed by the coaches. It was clear he is not there to attack. You could see he was not engaging in tackles that much.
I think they put him there w/o Lee or Jaylon to let him see how offenses run, how he lays the defensive calls to his teammate .. That was the main purpose of him being there

Awesome completely unsubstantiated and completely unprecedented nutball conspiracy theory, bro. Would read again!

....

It goes on and on. And that's leaving out the bickering about "kids back in the day versus today."

Look, I'm getting old. I get some amount of "stay off my lawn" emotion.

But I'm sorry. I just can't stand that place or most message boards, for that matter, for more than like five minutes. It's all entirely the same, these places all seem to foster and attract the same exact types of good ol' boys or 15 year olds who don't know jack shit about anything. They laugh at the same old tired, unoriginal jokes that your dad makes all the time. They generally don't have any type of knowledge or worthwhile insight yet they love to hear themselves talk. Most of them are sickeningly devoid of the ability to see any positive, but even the ones who are negative generally cling to the worst banalities and reductions to an argument's simplest form.

Sorry. I just had to rant.

I can't fucking stand it over there for more than like 30 seconds. It's so much bullshit. All of it.

And this is the basic level of intellect and arguing ability of most of the country.

I mean, I feel like an asshole, but how is it possible that I'm so much smarter than all these dorks? And I don't mean "me" specifically, but rather, even most of the people on this board are much more capable of having a reasoned conversation than those simpletons.

I liked your post even though i felt attacked.

Also, I completely agree with the guy that said Vandersloot didn't play well because the coaching staff told him not to. Sand baggin sons a bitches.

Is risenstar still a thing?

Still a Garrett defender himself ?

He used to be but he jumped off the wagon when the team rested everyone last game of 2016, then of course lost the first playoff game to the Packers. Seems like a few other things happened like pussing out on 4th and ones, etc.

Idgit's sig line.
Willie Anderson* on Jason Garrett: “Maaan
Jason Garret is portrayed wrong in my opinion outside of Dallas
. Dude has a plan , he knows what it is and he pushes Coaches and players to get on his level of intensity!”

Roger Staubach on Jason Garrett: "
He gets better and better
. I think he is going to be one of the great coaches in the NFL." (Voted 2016 Coach of the Year)

Dez on Jason Garrett: "
Coach Garrett is a well-respected guy in this locker room
. It’s not for the media to say. We love the way Coach Garrett goes about his business and we respect that. That’s why we want to play for him and why we want to win for him.”

Jerry Jones: "Jason Garrett is absolutely the real deal.
There's no fraud in Jason Garrett
. ... Does he have some things he could do better? Of course. But what I think we have here is an asset that will get us to where we want to go, which is a championship."

OH. MY. GOD.

He might as well just put it there that "Why yes, I would gladly lick the smegma out of Garrett's foreskin".

That was gross, Booze.

Not the smegma part, Bringing up idgit. I’d forgotten about him and how annoying he’s is.

Damn. I thought I went waaaay grotesque and it didn't faze you. But Bow-tie guy gotcha.

Well screw 8 years of mediocre results. Those words ratify him as a good coach.
